The lodge “Cercle St Thiebaut” is located near the train station and downtown Thann, not far from the hikingtrail GR5. It is a point of departure and a destination or a stopover for hikers. Due to its location, the hostel can be easily reached by bus from all over France and even by train from Germany or Switzerland.
The hostel is managed by the association Cercle St Thiebaut. The hostel does not offer meals, but there are many opportunities in the Thanner downtown. The house has a kitchen.
In 1992, the city of Thann renovated the building. The first floor has been converted into a meeting room and accommodation for hikers including pilgrims on their way to Saint-Jacques de Compostela.
In 2012 the house was rebuilt to creat new rooms and to replace dormitories by single bedrooms. An elevator allows acces to disabled to the upper floors. The furniture respect the principles of the network Hautes Vosges Randonnées.
