Thann
Located at the bottom of the Thur Valley and at the foot of the Vosges, Thann invites you to discover the charm of an old alsatian fortified town.
One of the most important relgious buildings of the town is the Collegiate church of Saint-Thiébaut. It is a jewel of Rhenish Gothic. Its construction began in the late 13th century and ended in the 15th century with the construction of the 78 m high spire. Thann is situated on a European trade route between Italy and the Netherlands and was therefore once a famous pilgrimage site.
Thann also is the southern gateway to the Alsace Wine Route. Its slopes are home to the famous Grand Cru du Rangen.
Must see places are also: the eye of the witch, and the local history museum "Friends of Thann" (Amis de Thann).
