Lake Perches

The Lake Perches, also called Sternsee (lake of the stars), is located in an old glacial cirque at 1000 meters altitude. Its name isn't due to the fish of the same name but to a transmission error. It should have been called “Bers”, the name of a pasture nearby. Another legend says that a young boy drowned here while trying to catch a falling star in the water. (that's why lake of the stars). The lake has an intense shimmer. This phenomenon is due to the clarity of the water and the granite ground of the lake.
