Ballon d'Alsace

The Ballon d'Alsace Ballon extends over the regions of Lorraine, Franche-Comte and Alsace. The Ballon d'Alsace is located in the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges as well as in the the nature reserve of the Ballons Comtois. For over 30 years this peak belongs with its 1,247 meters to the major national cultural and natural monuments of France ("Grand Site National")

Admire the panoramic views of the Moselle Valley, the Doller and the Swiss Alps. Take the the discovery trail and go past the monument of deminers (from the 2nd World War), the statue of Joan of Arc and the Virgin of Ballon d'Alsace. A number of educational panels along the way tell about the history of the area.
