An exceptional natural site
The Gazon Vert lodge is situated at 928m in a greenery surrounding. The traditional construction has been preserved as well as the view from above over the Storckensohn valley. Gazon Vert is different from the other lodges of the Hautes Vosges Randonnées network, that combines accomodation of hikers with agriculture acitivity. It is a mountain lodge, that just started goat farming.
100% local
Jean-Frédéric Rominger and Pauline Thomas manage the lodge. Pauline welcomes the clients. Jean-Frédéric takes care of the kitchen and the family farm at the village of Mollau below. The Gazon Vert serves only organic food: goat cheese, kid meat, eggs...
A bit of history
The Gazon Vert was build as a refuge for skiers from the Mulhouse region, skiing near the Perches mountain pass. It was destroyed in 1944 after being a hide out for members of the french resistance. The lodge was first renovated in 1990 by volonteers from Mulhouse and since then converted to fulfil the principles of the Hautes Vosges Randonnées network.
